Tatler 2019 Beauty & Cosmetic Surgery Guide
Dr. Gout is world renowned for her Aesthetic treatements, as recognised in Tatler’s Beauty & Cosmetic Surgery Guide.
She might be young, with the most enviable porcelain skin, but when it comes to aesthetic medicine, Gout is surprisingly steely. This daughter of a doctor, whose father is a professor of cancer biochemistry at UCL, is driven by science and evidencebased research. ‘I wait for years before I start using something,’ she says. ‘You are dealing with the face and body; there are risks that you cannot take.’
Her consultations are logical and conducted with a mathematician’s precision. Symmetry and proportion are measured (‘we want to keep the “beauty triangle” – the eyes, cheeks, chin – in the perfect ratio’) before the skin, muscles, fat and tissues are systematically addressed. Botox can reduce movement in an overactive glabella (the area between the eyebrows), and it works well to soften the muscles in the chin, preventing excessive creasing and working to support the jaw. Though she’s also a pedant for skin maintenance: ‘A good TCA chemical peel will strengthen the dermis. And use plenty of sunblock, that’s important.’ When she’s not in clinic, you’ll find her organising conferences around the world, usually in a Roksanda Ilincic shift dress.
